The Andes Mountains are are found on the eastern border. Chilean literature is known world wide, as Gabriela Mistral was the first Chilean that won a Nobel Prize. However Pablo Neruda, is the most famous poet that won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Tourism in Chile increased over the last few decades. The main attractions are places of natural beauty: San Pedro de Atacama, the Altiplano lakes, and the Valley of the Moon. The Chungará Lake, as well as the Parinacota and the Pomerape volcanoes. The Andes Mountains are rich in ski resorts, like Portillo and Valle Nevado. Despite all these, the main tourist destination in Chile is the Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean. |
