The Netherlands is a country in Northwestern Europe. It is a parliamentary democratic monarchy. It is limited by the North Sea to the north and west, Belgium to the south, and Germany to the east. The capital is Amsterdam and the seat of government is Hague. The Netherlands is frequently called Holland, which is incorrect because North and South Holland are only two of its twelve provinces.
