Malta is a very dense and developed country in Europe. It includes the islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino, and many smaller, uninhabited islands. It is located in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Sicily (Italy), north-east of Tunisia, east of Gibraltar and west of Alexandria. It has a little over 300 km² and a population of about 400,000 people. Its capital is Valletta but the biggest city is Birkirkara. It has a Mediterranean climate. The official languages are Maltese and English. Roman Catholicism is the official and dominant religion in Malta. The Megalithic Temples is one of the most prominent world heritage site, which is the oldest free standing structures in Europe. It is also known as an Apostolic See because it is suggested that St. Paul may have been shipwrecked on the island. It is suggested that Malta could be the hypothetical location of the Atlantis.
