The Principality of Liechtenstein is an alpine microstate in Western Europe. It neighbors are : Switzerland to the west and south and Austria to the east. It has just little over 160 km² and a population of only 35,000. Its capital is Vaduz, and the biggest town is Schaan. It is a constitutional monarchy divided into 11 municipalities. Much of the landscape is mountainous, making it a winter sports destination. Cultivated fields and small farms defines its landscape in north and south. The country is ranked as a tax haven, having a strong financial sector. It is a member of the European Free Trade Association. Liechtenstein is not part of the European Union. Their official language is German, and most of its inhabitants are Christian. |
