Jordan is a country in Western Asia. It neighbors Syria to the north, Iraq to the northeast, Saudi Arabia to the east and south, the Gulf of Aqaba to the southwest, and Israel and the West Bank to the west. It controls the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, together with Israel. The Arabian Desert covers a big part of the country, but in north west, where the Jordan River flows, the land is very fertile. It is a constitutional monarchy with a representative government. It has one of the largest uranium reserves in the world. An important sector for the economy is tourism.
